In this article we are going to look at the Definition of public policy and industry 4.0, and what poverty is and how it can be reduced in the near future.

Cochran, Malone (2014:3) defines public policy as the heart, soul and identity of government. It can also be defined as the framework within the government that can help decide what actions need to be taken in order to help public needs. Public policy is the study of the government itself, the decisions and actions taken in order to create a solution for public problems.

There are Different type’s ,levels and role players in Public Policy. Dis distributive Policy , Regulatory Policy and Redistributive policy form part of the types of public policy.

Distributive policy

Is when some policies provide benefits to a group or a individual witch will benefit from it , the process to help these people or groups will begin by utilising public funds to support identifies groups n. Examples of these are: tax policy , and fiscal policy (Singhal,20,1).

Regulatory Policies

These policies sets limits, restrictions and control of groups and individuals, for example: labour policy, fertility control policy (Anon:2016).

Redistributive policies

This policy is highly complex because it involves the reallocation of funds, powers and rights, these are efforts by the government to shift wealth, income and rights of people over groups of the population for example   social welfare policy, health care, immigration policy (Anon:2016).

The different levels of public policy consist of ,Problem identification, policy formulation, policy adaption , policy Implementation, and policy evaluation.

According to Roux (2002:12) ,There are different role players such as globalisation, poverty ,streamlining technology processes, shifting demographics, changing customer or client needs and expectations and international economic trends are some of the forces necessitating continuous change in public policy.

Industry 4.0

First it was Mechanization , water power, steam power , secondly Mass production, assembly line, electricity, followed by Computer and Automation and now Cyber Physical Systems , that is why it is called industry 4.0 (Bernard,2017:1), the focus of industry 4.0 is to help both the manufacturing and non-manufacturing process, it aims and focuses on enabling an accelerating the adoption of internet-connected technologies (de Bernardini,2015:1)

What is poverty and how can it be reduced in the near future?

Poverty is better known as poor conditions that people are living in. peoples basic needs like food, water , clothing are not being met (Anon,2017)

There are two types of poverty such as Absolute poverty where people don’t have the ability to meet the amount of vitamins and calories that they need to be healthy. Secondly is relative poverty , which means that people do not have the privilege to live at the minimum level of living standards determined by the government (Woodson,2015:2)

According to Boteach and Vallas (2014:17) there are different ways to reduce poverty such as creating jobs , raising the minimum wage ,support pay equity , provide paid leave and paid sick days and to invest in affordable , high-quality child care and early education just to name a few.
