• At 2 October 2017 refunds of R62.1bn were pay to taxpayers at which R49.5 bn is Vat refunds and R12.3 bn is for personal income tax returns
•  Since this date only 2.7 million taxpayers submitted their returns in this tax season which opened in July
• Because of the above mention and the fact that taxpayers are not setting there debt with revenue collections agencies within the stipulated deadline, SARS will worsen criminal proceedings from October
• This ruling is not limited to the current year but also to previously non- compliance years
