When everyone is always talking and complaining about racism! Has anyone ever sat down and thought about the struggle that students go through? First thing first, as a student you are expected to have access to internet at all times but no one ever thinks about the struggle that the 10% of students have to go through in order to access just a single file.
We tend to force ourselves to meet the standards of other students forgetting that we are not from the same womb, background and life. Some students are not even academically strong and that puts a strain in one's life. Students who are not in the medical field, Engineering and Law are mostly regarded as "stupid" students. Varsity life is a roller coaster itself. This is from experience, you study and end up losing yourself in your books and whats worse is after graduation......job hunting.
You have the degree or diploma but 4 years of experience from sitting at home and hoping for a miracle. If you do not know anyone in high places, the Debt you put yourself in for 3-4 years and the emotional, mental and physical ride was for you to carry that paper just for a miracle.
Dear Isago. Congratulations on your blog. Your entry totally blew my mind. This issue is one that is quite worrisome. However, for now I'll focus more on the issue of internet access. This is a problem for most of the students seeing that we aren't all from the same backgrounds. Question is,what can be done to combat this problem or see to it that our institutions are made aware of this and ensure that means are made in order to address it?
Thank you very much for such a wonderful blog I couldn't have said it better myself, the issue of internet access is a cause for concern because we as students are from different backgrounds and some of the students can barely afford laptops and depend only on the university's internet, so the question is: What can our institutions do to help us with this predicament?
Dear Gaolese and Busi this problem breaks my heart as most of the work is done online. I think we as students need to pull our socks and see what can be done to help ease this problem.
now this is something that one needs to bear in mind .thank you and congratulations
Dear Isago, Congratulations on writing a mind blowing Entry. The problem outlined of access to the internet remains a major concern, like you mentioned we are not all on the same level in all aspects of life.
Galaletsang Matsane also made mention on her blog something similar to yours, "Qualified, Yet Unemployed". It gives me great pleasure seeing that we are not just sitting in our comfort zones but we are aware of our struggles as students!!
