People can not say that arts integration is a waste of time. Integration is like hitting two birds with one stone. Arts integration holds many values in developing the following: writing, reading, and basic literacy skills, develops special reasoning for mathematics, helps with problem solving, creativity and discipline.
I feel that art integration holds may benefits in developing all these factors in the young Foundation Phase children. It is a way of expressing what they have learnt through art, whether it be drawings or drama performances. This will also result in them remembering what they have learnt better.
Art integration is only a waste of time when not planned right. The lesson outcome will then not be reached, and the children will not understand that they are learning.

I found the benefits of art integration interesting. It sounds like a practical and fun way to get learners to understand different concepts and combining it with an art form. Not only will they have fun but also learn and develop different learning skills.
• What did you find challenging? Please explain why.
I think it will be challenging to plan an art integration activity and getting it right on the first time. But nothing from the unit was challenging to comprehend.
