The majority of people consider art in education to be a luxury and do not recognize its value; they do not believe that creative activities like as painting, dancing, or learning to play music are vital. These activities aid in the development of a child's motor skills, language, and cognitive abilities. Mathematics, languages, and science are not the only topics that should be prioritized; art should be prioritized as well.
I'd would enlighten the HOD by showing the results and research from other schools that show how art has improved students' language skills. When students make art or simply talk about it, they have opportunities to learn words for colors, shapes, and actions. Children in the Foundation Phase can use descriptive terms to talk about their own creations. It will aid in the development of their decision-making abilities, as well as their problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Making decisions and choices while creating a work of art extends over into other aspects of life.
Creativity has a chance to bloom if they are investigating, thinking, experimenting, and testing new ideas. It will help them perform better in school. Children who participate in the arts on a regular basis are more likely than those who do not to be recognized for academic accomplishment, to participate in a math and science fair, or to win an award for writing an essay or poetry. Art improves not only everything, but it also improves a child's mood and lowers the risk of depression.
