In this study unit we learn that we can meet all different needs of learners through music., by encouraging them participate with all their domains.

There are five music elements i came across while studying this unit, namely; duration, pitch, intensity, quality, and texture. Without these elements, we cant create music.

The unit also include different types of music activities which are suitable for foundation phase learners; singing, moving to music, music listening, instrument playing, musical games.

THREE MUSIC EDUCATION APPROACHES.

1. Carl Orff - it encourages self-discovery and improvisation while utilizing the whole body as a percussive instrument. When teachers use this approach for music education they focus on four stages of development, imitation, exploration, improvisation and composition.

2. Zoltan Kodaly - it promotes musical development through active participation in music singing, movement and singing. this type of approach can be done through auditory and vocal exercises

3. Reggio Emilia - it is a learner-centered, it require learners to to engage in their own learning.
