What a semester it has been. It's been hectic. I am sure we all had our ups and downs and our lights and darks due to Eskom's lovely contribution called loadshedding.

 

Well let's not get stuck there, but rather move on and look on the bright side ( buh-dum-tss)


 

Teachers can come up with fresh and innovative ways to teach students new activities and skills to help them perform at their best and complete the lesson. While completing their music tasks, the students learn a variety of abilities that will benefit them in the future. For example, improvising when they encounter difficulty and need to come up with new solutions, or just having to adapt to new situations, this talent will be beneficial. Examining difficulties is another skill that learners gain. They learn to study problems and then come up with a solution to fix them.

 

A few things to remember while arranging a music lesson: Always include music in your lesson: 

  • Always include music in your lessons; you can't expect students to learn how music works and feels without allowing them to listen to music. The music that learners will listen to while doing music activities should always have a lesson, and that lesson should contribute to the teacher's goals for the lesson. For example, the ABC song is about the alphabet, and the song educates the learners about the alphabet.

 

  • Create new activities and ideas for the students to always guide them to listen to the music that is playing, for example, when the teachers wish to teach the students about their environment, body or whatever is applicable to the lesson being presented

  • Another way for teachers to motivate students to learn different activities is to give them a game that is related to the lesson and have them try to figure out what they should do in the game. However, the teacher should refrain from assisting students or explaining how to solve problems before they have had time to solve the problems themselves. After a set length of time has passed, the teacher might ask the students what they should have done in the game and allow them to discuss what they learned from it. The students will learn to solve issues on their own and test their ability to work independently in this manner.










 

It would be ideal if you clarify how you'd advocate for and increase mindfulness around the significance of assessment when speaking along with your HOD almost your concerns in this regard.
