In this study unit I have learned about how children develop mentally physically, emotionally and their social abilities. There are theories that ague on according to the developmental growth of children. Erikson, Piaget and Vygotsky. Erickson psychological development theory, agues that children rely on feedback from peers, teacher and parents. Children always want to be praised when they achieved a good thing, otherwise they became discouraged.
Piaget cognitive development theory agues that children learn by integration, they build knowledge on the prior knowledge. Piaget named stages which are Pre operational stage and Concrete operational stage. Preoperational stage is from 2-6 and are egocentric, they use words and images to represent objects. they struggle with reverse reasoning. Concrete operational stage have logical thinking and are from ages between the 7 years. They can solve problems, and struggle abstract thinking and hypothetical concepts.
Vygostky and zone of proximal development theory, agues that children learn in social interaction. He agues that you cannot know the child unless you know their social -cultural factors. Children learn better by interaction it can be a peer, teacher or a parent.
