Week 1-part 2.

Heyyyyy bloggers !!!!  Comment Heart with solid fill

I’ve learnt about the 3 learning theories, Erikson’s theory- with respect of Ericksons theory I feel this theory  is a theory that allows ample amount of physical activities as well as taking the child’s emotional needs into consideration, and this stands out for me, in the foundation phase we all know how students love to be “babied”, with  Piaget’s cognitive theory – I personally feel that the stages are too rigid and formulated, as not all children can be categorised  with the exact time frames well with  Vygotsky’s theory, Vygotsky made clear remarks on the importance of social interaction between children, and guidance from teachers, parents etc. In-fact I agree that both Erikson and Vygotsky theory are evidently applicable in our day and age. I have sound knowledge of these theories, since I’ve done these theories in the previous year and in other modules, each theory caters for different aspects of a child’s life, and that to me is pretty interesting. New facts that stood out for me, were the significance and paramount importance of music in a child’s life and guess what music enhances LANGUAGE AND Numeracy skills!!!! It helps in the development of the child, in day every normal life as well as cognitive development, music also increases attention span, and we all know of the constant struggle of keeping students occupied!!! Music tends to lighten up the atmosphere for learning, which then in turns a happy stimulating environment for our babies.

What I feel stood out most for me was the fact that children are aware of sounds way before they are born!! How amazing!!! Babies first become aware of their mothers’ heart while they are in the womb of their mothers, this fact literally has me blown me away!!!! , this explains why children ALWAYS find comfort in their mothers!! What I also found super interesting was the fact that from the age, 5 children start to form sounds that fall under the pitch category, and by the time they are 6 they are able to harmonise, resulting in tone and pitch accuracy.

Take care bloggers and stay safe!!!!
