My name is Kopano Maphunye and I'm from Zeerust, Gopane village. I want to be a foundation phase teacher because it is great to interact with children from a tender age, it needs a person who is patient working and listening to children, giving each one of them a chance to express themselves.
I am passionate about being a good teacher, being a good daughter, sister , about learning.
I feel overwhelmed at times as this semester is shorter than the first semester and there is lot of work so I have to to do all my best to meet the deadlines making sure not to miss any due date of assignments and tests. To treat the module as a priority and not slack at any time and passing the module is my expectation.
Arts integration is not a waste of time in Foundation Phase as it helps learners develop creative problem solving skills. Teaching through arts can presents difficult concepts visually, making them more easy to understand. Integrating art with other disciplines reaches students who might not be engaged in classwork.
Arts integration have benefits :
Teaching and learning about music is what I find interesting as learners will be able to know more about many instruments and when listening to a song they will be able to differentiate the tempo/dynamics, beat and the rhythm of the song.
Teaching and learning in music is what I find challenging because the focus is on one music concept and if the concept is incorrectly identified teaching and learning will not be easy to take place.
