This has been a very challenging week for me so far. I have been sooo busy.... My laptop didn't work as well, so I couldn't do any of the work I was meant to this week until now. Luckily one of the teachers at school said I can borrow her laptop for a while. This really inhibited my week as I felt like everything was standing still but also moving so fast at the same time.

Now that I've went through the work of study unit one I can say that I am quite confident and excited about this module. I am confident in my knowledge t teach music through movement. Because I work at a school where music is a subject I am aware of the fact that teaching music with movement in the Foundation phase goes hand in hand. I am also confident to integrate music into my teaching practice as I can see the change in the learners' behavior when when hey can move, dance, sing and listen to music. These are abilities that children need to develop at this age. With certainty, I can say that music will definitely help to shape great minds and opens a whole new world to youngsters.

If I have to choose between music and physical activities, I will most definitely choose to incorporate music in teaching for the holistic development of students. I believe that music gives us, as teacher a better opportunity to help children with holistic development. Student who find it hard to get certain tasks done which promotes their holistic development can be given the key of music to a new way f learning. Music helps to calm the mind and while most definitely help children who can't concentrate in a class setting. This helps to improve cognitive development, attention and as well as multitasking.

Not only does music help learners to concentrate, but it also boosts the students' confidence as they find making music awarding. Children can express themselves through music.

I believe that incorporating music is important for students in the foundation phase as it has a critical role in their development.
