Study unit 3

This week was a fun one. Made new friends at work and learned a lot about hockey and how to coach. My patience was tested a lot, but I managed to stay calm. This study unit was very interesting and I learned new ways to use music as a brain break opportunity and to get children more involved.

Some learners could feel uncomfortable because, they could be introverts and now they are being forced to dance in front of the class. In second grade children also become more aware of their bodies and could feel self conscious to dance in front of the opposite sex. They could also feel uncomfortable because they do mot understand the words of the song that is being played.

The learners was uncomfortable because of religious reasons and the other because she had to dance in front of the class. In future to prevent this from happening is to explain to the children what the song means. Also to play different types of music can prevent the children from feeling uncomfortable. I would also ask the children of the class to choose a song.

In a diverse classroom it is very important to remember what the children believe in. Such as their religion and what they are and aren't allowed to do. It is also important to play music that everyone can relate to. It is important to not force the children to do something that they are uncomfortable with doing.
