Music concepts are melody, texture, rhythm, timbre, hamorny.

When foundation phase learners engage in teaching and learning activities which include principles of play, they are able to develop holistically through engagement in authentic, meaningful activities and also when learners have to find ways to reach certain goals during play while adhering to certain strict or fluent rules (determined by themselves or the teacher), they develop the ability to think outside of the box, meaning that they can think creatively which is very important in the development of a child.

Learning music improves maths skills because, at some level, all music is math. ... Performing music, therefore, reinforces parts of the brain used when doing math. Studies even show that children who play instruments are able to complete complex mathematical problems better than peers who do not play instruments.
