I prefer working under pressure, which I know could be too much for me, but the pressure really motivates me. This weekend has bee' one of those weekends I do not wish to remember, it was cold, no electricity. I think am going to be sick because I seem to be coughing all of a sudden from thev cold. I do not know much about music nor listen much. Am more a reader. I hope the module will teach me about and fruitful. I plan to learn with understanding and plan to use everything I learn in my classes. Going through the thoeris that are applicable to fundation phase and how music has an influence in developing a child. I have learned that Erickson stage focuses on the social interaction and relationship learning. He discovered a stage of which covers children in the fundation phase whiwh is the stage of industry vs inferiority (5-11). During the stage, children develop a sense of pride in their accomplishments and abilities through social interactions and relationships. Fundation phase teachers need to provide sufficient extrinsic motivation since learners rely on positive feedback from parents, peers and teachers. During the stage, learners develop skills that are required to cope with challenges.

Piaget-his theory emphasis that children learn by interacting with their world around them. Piaget stressed that children are different from adults and as children in the fundation phase they fall between the pre operational stage (2-6)and concrete operational stage (7-11).

Pre-operational stage - children use images and words to represent objects, are often still egocentric and find it challenging to take others points of view into consideration since they believe that every one thinks the way they do.

Concrete operational stage - children think logicals about concrete events but might struggle with abstract thinking 1nd hypothetical concepts.

Vygotsky - emphasized the importance of social interaction and language development. It is based on the interaction between individuals and their environment. Social environment influences cognitive development through tools to children who they internalis. Cognitive change is a result of cultural tools acquired through social interactions and from internalisztion a'd mental transformation.

Musical development in the FP. I have learnt that music play a big role in the development of children in the FP, it benefits them cognitively, physically and socially. Children learn the sounds and meanings of words. When they make movement, they make use of their bodies which helps build motor skills when children partake in musical activities, thier holistic development is supported.
