Arts integration is defined as one of the most effective ways for a diverse group of students with diverse interests, aptitudes, learning styles, and experiences to come together and form a community of active learners who take responsibility and ownership of their own learning.

The value of arts integration

  1. Schools that encourage teachers to use arts integration tactics in their classrooms have seen increased math scores and fewer disciplinary issues.
  2. Gives teachers the chance to promote and support their learners’ developmental needs.
  3. Gives learners the prospect to collaborate in teaching and learning activities which are fun.
  4. Promotes children’s inborn curiosity, creativity and imaginative capabilities.
  5. Through participation in authentic learning activities, foundation phase learners will improve their problem solving and critical thinking skills.
