My name is Selaledi Reabetswe. I am a girl from a small town in North West province called Zeerust.

I want to be a foundation phase teacher because I love to be around children and I have ability to change learners lives from smaller age and their mindset. It is good and nice to interact with young children from different homes/ children of different races because as a teacher I will learn a lot from them to as they will be learning from me too.

My passion is I love to learn, I love leaners, I am in love with a field of knowledge. I want to be involved with the issues that will change our world. I care for students and respect them.

I am happy and know that I will learn more from this module. I will feed my mind with good reasons and more information.

I expect myself to be prepared for every lessons, tests/ assessments, assignments and hand them on time. Communication with lecturer. By the end of this semester I expect myself to pass this module

Arts integration in the foundation phase

Art integration is an educational approach that allows learners to build and demonstrate understanding through art forms. We support all learners not forgetting those who are disabled. Definitely, art integration is an important tool that helps to strengthen learner's self-esteem and promote collaboration between learners, communication and teamwork. Learners can see or notice their strengths and weaknesses.

What did you find interesting?

Learners can learn  with the instruments they find through music, adaptations and pictures. In the video i watched  i found it interesting because the learners were excited to be introduced to new things and learning methods and were more active than to sit all day and watch the teacher teach. I t was interesting for learners to be able to learn what art integration offers outside of the educational and learning environment.

What did you find difficult ?

The only difficulty for me was to give all learners the opportunity to role play. They are slow and i ran out of time, and art integration requires a great deal of time.
