I'm 31 years old, I am from Brakpan Dalpark.I want to be a teacher because I want to educate the future generation of South Africa and make change in their lives. I have a passion for children I love young learners especially the foundation phase learners, they are easy to teach and they have an enthusiasm they like to ask questions in a way they are challenging.I am really excited to start learning this semester and I am ready. I am expecting to gain more knowledge and add on my existing knowledge. I have high hope that I'M going to pass this module with a distinction.angel angel

Week 1 part 2

Erikson, Vygotsky and Piaget according to these theories’ children develop in different ways

Vygotsky's claims that children they develop by their environment around where what determined how the brain would develop and grow. The environment must be conducive in order for learners to develop holistically.

Piaget's cognitive development theory

while Piaget focuses on child's abilities and existing skills, He study the mental structure of the brain and cognitive development, Vygotsky Zone of Proximal Development he is four stages of Piaget developmental stages in order for a child to un Vygotsky Zone of Proximal Development der go or a process of growing into adulthood.

Erikson's stage of psychosocial development

He focuses on the self and social interaction and relationships on learning. As foundation phase educators, we shall not disregard the importance of fostering relationships with our learners, I fully agree to this point.smiley

These theories they may have different ideas about how a child grows but they have one thing in common they all claim that a child must develop holistically.

Individual reflection

1. what I understand about zone of proximal development by Vygotsky is that if a child is facing a challenge of his/her learning development in order for him/her to solve that problem he will need an assistance from an adult or a mentor peer to reach that particular goal.

2. The learning theories they have the same ideas, opinion, goal and they argue on how must a child develop and they must be a stages that they must undergo in order for them to develop holistically for an example: social, emotional, physical, cognitive and intellectual development. These theories they sometimes see eye to eye when it come to a child development.

3. Social development: Learners must interact with one another

Emotional development: Teachers must see their learners as they arrive how do they feel sad, happy crying and angry.

physical development: A learner’s appearance will show if the child today he/she is not well

cognitive development: That learner will solve some problems in his/her learning activities without any disturbances a fully focus child.

intellectual development: These are gifted learners some have high level of IQ and they will challenge us as teachers.

4. This allows learners to focus on specific music aspects and it develops a child selective time during listening and they develop during this period, children they show openness. Children they learn to match the tone, pitch and they develop other skills.

5. Middle childhood they sense of tonality along with the ability to more accurate match pitch.

During pre-school period allow for increased fine and gross motor coordination.

Age 6- or 7-years children have a vocal range of approximately one octave improvements in rhythmic abilities are noted as well and thy can demonstrate rhythms.

6. Vygotsky: when i teach in class i make sure that when i plan my lessons i make sure that i include the learning environment, its safety and conducive, and social interaction with peers and other teachers in school.

Piaget: prior knowledge teacher must find out what does a learner already knows by asking questions prior before introducing a content. when a teacher teaches, she/he must assess the learners in order to see that these learners they understand what she/he is teaching.

Erikson: He focuses on the self and social interaction and relationships on learning. As foundation phase educators, we shall not disregard the importance of fostering relationships with our learners.
