Hello laugh My name is Monéne Anker. I'm 20 years old and live in Polokwane.

I am a distance student, while I study I work as a student teacher at a private school in my hometown. The shools name is Akademie Reformia. It is a small school and are very religious orientated. I enjoy it a lot to work and study at the same time, because I learn so much more than I would have learn when I would have been on campus. I learn the whole routine of being in a class and gain a lot of experience in this way. The best thing of all is that I also get a salary at this age.

At first I was a bit nervous of the LSKM 221 module, because I don't really know a lot about music and all the concepts. But I am very eager to learn so that I can use it one day in my own classroom.

Part 1:

I am on this and ready to finish this blogs as soon as possible laugh

Part 2:

Everyone works together to produce discipline, spirit, imagination, capacity to interact, generate change, therapeutic effects, learners acquire a variety of assessment capabilities, sense, and sensitivities, and play incorporates a multiplicity of aspects.

I learned the importance of play and how to integrate aspects of play into music activities, the importance of musical play in multicultural classrooms, many forms of musical games, play characteristics, the function of musical play, and the importance of play for overall development. Play promotes physical, social, and emotional development, as well as cognitive development. Through their participation in play activities, students have the opportunity to master a variety of ideas, physical, social, and intellectual abilities

Part 3:

What possibly made some learners uncomfortable during these activities?

The boy felt uncomfortable because he could not understand the meaning of the song and did not know what the song was about. The girl was uncomfortable dancing in front of the boys to house music, because of  her religion.

Can you think of ways to address these issues in the future? What will you change?

I think what the teacher could have done was to explain the meaning of the song and the words to the whole class so that they are familiar to the content of the song. The teacher can also tell the children before the time that if they feel uncomfortable dancing due to their religion, they do not have to participate in the activity and then the teacher must make sure that the whole class understand the reason why some learners are not participating. Learners must have the boldness to come forward about their religion and beliefs, and must not be penalized.

How can we accommodate diverse learner profiles in our classrooms? What must we beware of?

Teachers must be aware of the fact that there are many kinds of diverse children in their classroom and must accommodate everyone in lessons and activities. All children should feel accepted despite their culture, religion, beliefs etc. Other learners should also be aware of the diverse profiles in their particular class.

Learning through play in the Foundation Phase is one of the most important things to incorporate in the classroom.  Not only are the learners engaged and learning is spontaneous, but music also ignites all areas of child development and skills to succeed in school.  The learners' vocabulary, language skills, emotional and social skills are developed. It also makes it easier for learners to learn and recognize sounds easily. Children learn to make decisions, govern their own behavior, meet complicated problems, and accept responsibility for their actions by developing life skills.  Through music, their confidence levels also improve.

Have a great week wink
