In Foundation phase, inclusive education plays an important role as it prepares learners to engage more in music and they use most of their senses when producing the sound of the instruments, learners should be able to feel accepted in the class and feel equal as any other learner.

Music elements act as a construction of knowledge in music, with this learners will be able to differentiate different types of this elements namely:-

1. Duration of tone which defines the length of the time a sound holds.

2. pitch of the tone which can be described as how low or high a tone is as they are arranged in a linear mode.

3. intensity of tone as it is described as how soft a tone in a song is.

4. quality of tone may be characterised by the instrument which can be described when a sound has been played, it may be an instrument which is familiar where one can name it by just hearing the sound of the beat.

5. texture of the tone refers to the thinness or the thickness of the sound where as a song can have multiple types of instruments and produce more sounds and this defines the texture that it has.

foundation phase is a phase where children learn through play and this play may be turned into activities which may be formal or informal.

in this different types of  music i learnt that they are all important as learners will be able to differentiate between beats, tones and melody in a song and be able to demonstrate the beats using their body in a right manner.

in a foundation phase classroom learners needs to be free on using different kinds of instrument as they will benefiting more on the sensory motor activity that the educator will be implementing.

learners in their early grades enjoy using movements when a song plays as this will be highlighted as an activity and learn other new movements to use with the song. a body percussion can be characterised by movement as it requires body movement, this can be achieved by clapping hands, stamping feet, clicking fingers, patting thighs, chest
