In every culture, there have been in teaching and beliefs that are d established, making the standpoint and actions of its members. Within my ethnic group, two such as beliefs have significantly influenced my worldview, offering insights into how i perceive the world and interact with others. The importance of Ubuntu, come from southern African philosophy, ubuntu interconnect and the essential humanity of individuals.it emphasizes the idea that i am because we are, highlighting the profound interdependence between people.This concept instils a sense of communal responsibility ,encouraging empathy ,compassion ,and mutual support within society .Growing up with ubuntu as a guiding principle ,i have learned to value relationship ,prioritize community well-being ,and approach conflict with understanding and reconciliation rather than hostility .ubuntu teaches us that our actions have ripple effect, impacting not only ourselves but also those around us ,fostering a sense of unity and collective identity. Respect for elders and ancestors in many cultures including mine, reverence for elders and ancestors is deeply embedded in societal norms and practices. This belief underscores the importance of honouring the wisdom, experiences and contributions of previous generation. It involves listening to elders' counsel, preserving cultural traditions, and paying homage to ancestors through rituals and ceremonies. This reverence fosters sense of continuity, connecting us to our roots and providing a foundation for identity and belonging. By respecting our elders and ancestors, we acknowledge our interconnect Ness across time, recognising that we are part of broader narrative shaped by those who came before us .This belief instils humility, gratitude, and a deep sense of heritage, guiding our actions with reverence and respect for those who paved the way. These two teachings, ubuntu and respect for elders and ancestors, have profoundly influenced my worldview, shaping how i navigate relationships, approach challenges ,and perceive my place in the world .They remind me of the power of community ,the importance of heritage, the interconnected of all humanity by embracing these beliefs ,i strive to embody values of empathy, compassion and humility seeking to contribute positively to collective wellbeing of society while honouring the wisdom of those who came before me.
