Every culture has its own unique perspective on the world but one of the most important is a set of beliefs or teachings that are endogenous which come from within the group. The play a very important role in determining how a group identifies itself in the universe and also how its member interact with each other and the world around them.
At an young age we were taught that we should not go near the kraal when we on that time of the month(periods) because that may affect the livestock, like it could die. So when its that time of the month, we would play far away from the kraal. Since its a belief that women do not belong in kraals, its always been there for generations to generations that when it comes to ceremonies its always been men who stay or sit inside the kraal.
Also one of the teachings i was taught is that as a girl when the sun goes down, you must be already in the house. When the gate or doors are locked, you must be already inside the house. As a girl your chores were to cook, clean and make tea for your elders. When growing up, we were not allowed to visit friends so even at this age I don't like visiting friends unless it's only for a short-time
