I would love to believe that in most ethnic groups there is a belief or teaching of a traditional doctor or healers, however the Basotho group refers to the traditional doctor as "Ngaka". The belief in traditional doctors have influence in my daily life, particularly in the herbs that help and fight against sicknesses. A traditional doctor is a person who have a great knowledge and skills about herbs, with basotho group being an "ngaka" depends on the belief, knowledge and experiences of indigenous aspects. With Basotho group for example whenever an individual have flu, mint as a plant is prescribed not consulting with a medical doctor or drinking medicine, if a person is very sick "ngaka" can help. This teaching of traditional doctors and healers had worked for me as an individual.
