According to Chimamanda Adichie a single story creates stereotypes and the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but they make one story become the only story. The consequence of the single story is that it robs people of dignity, it makes our recognition for equal humanity difficult, it emphasizes how we are different rather than how we are similar. When we reject the single story, when we realize that there is never a single story of any place, we regain a kind of paradise.
I believe that there is many more dangers of a single story than meets the eye, I believe that a one sided story can not only cause a misunderstanding between parties but it can also be a starting factor of a rivalry and false conclusions to the parties involved. I believe that a single story does not only pose as a threat to the relationships of people but it also a factor that can also contribute to relationships never being formed. A single story does not only limit accurate opinions it is also a factor of of a certain side never being heard and limits the chances of equal humanity to be restored.
A single story does not only pose as a danger of a single story never being listened to or heard but it always leaves a mark of the truth always never being known because only one side was listened to and was taken as the only story or side that exists.
