Waking up in the morning the first thing that comes to mind is a quick prayer to give thanks to the Lord for waking me up yet another day. I then take a shower, make food and get dressed. I head out an hour before class just to meet new people on my way to campus, meeting new people is a different feeling because i hear different languages everyday. The most intriguing one of all that i have heard was ndebele. The pronunciation and syllabels have a different sound i havent heard before. It makes me feel like i could learn the language. On my way to campus i met a new friend who spoke ndebele perfectly since it was her mother language, as she was speaking and introducing herself to me. I thought to myself " what an interesting language to learn it felt like a breathe of fresh air hearing a language i havent heard before in person. I proceeded to tell her that i am a tswana and she replied in tswana and i thought to myself what a multilingual person she accommodated me even though she couldn't speak it properly. We walked to school together and i was trying to learn ndebele along the way. It was a new interaction, a new language, a new feeling, i also had a new perspective on ndebele after that interaction. Every morning i go to campus i try to meet new people to see if i cant learn something new. I will only be doing this for the first few momths just to try something new out of my routine just to try and learn something new.
