Is it really the land of the poor or its more of peoples views. Let me tell you more about how Mattole is viewed as a "Primitive society" in " single story" as it is a place that if viewed from far one will turn to think that people who live there are dying of hunger, with children who lack education because of the outer view. Whilst the truth of the story is that yes the place is full of shacks with a bit of high crime rate but that does not mean to say on the other side of Mattole the is no better place that is filled with comfort.

After all the stories i had about Mattole i decided to go there myself so i can get to see all those things that people say if they are the real truth, before i could creat othering and stereotypes about a place that i haven't being there by myself. when i reached the place i was amazed as to how people portrayed a very nice place witch is full of lands used to plant vegies with huge houses that could cater the whole of Queen Elizabeth's family, you can now image how huge those houses are. Just only because one saw the place while passing they just concluded that people who live there are dying of hunger and are probably drinking very dirty water.

All of this leads to the "Single story" of how quick people are always ready to pick up their side of the story based on something they only head about once and never took it upon them to go and find out the actual truth. All of this thought me to never judge a book by it's cover without knowing the morale of the story.
