Welcome to the world of nutrition.  Nutrition has always played an important role in your life ― even before you were born ― although you have not always been aware of it. Nutrition will affect your future body health and performances on the sports field either positively or negatively, depending on your food choices.  Each day’s choices may just be a slight advantage or disadvantage to your body, but if these choices are made over years and decades, the fruits reaped become more evident (and perceptible!).

Most people realise that eating habits influence their health, but they often choose foods for other reasons.  It must be a pleasure to eat in accordance with traditions and beliefs, but the food must also nourish the body.  Hence the challenge is to combine favoured foods with a nutritionally balanced diet.  Having completed this module, you should be capable of doing just that.  May your successful completion of NUTB 112 be an enriching learning experience!
