You are added to this site because you are either registered for a MHSc with Health Profession Education (HPED 871) or a PhD in Health Sciences with Health Professions Education (HPED 971).
MHSc with Health Profession Education (HPED 871)
The focus of this module is on health education research in the higher education context to advance the scholarship of teaching and learning in Health Sciences. The HPED 871 module is a research module where students will plan, execute and report on a health science education-related research project. The research will be conducted with the aim to contribute to the improvement of teaching and learning in health sciences.
PhD in Health Sciences with Health Professions Education (HPED 971)
The focus of this module is on health education research in the higher education context with the aim to advance the scholarship of teaching and learning in Health Sciences. The HPED 971 module is a research module where students will plan, execute and report on a health science education-related research project on a doctoral level. The research will be conducted from a pragmatic perspective to contribute to the improvement of teaching and learning in health sciences. The final outcome of this module is the publication of scientific articles in accredited journals as a contribution to the field of knowledge - in line with the Faculty of Health Sciences policy.
Teaching and learning in these modules
Formal supervision and mentorship discussions between you and your supervisor(s) will take place on a regular basis. As a self-directed student, you are expected to work independently according to a time schedule, as well as the quality criteria set for this module.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Please take time to navigate through this site in order to ensure that you are familiar with all the support provided.
- You are required to complete all 'assignments' by their due dates. The 'assignments' include submission registration documents, proof of ethics training, etc. An announcement will also be sent out in all such instances. Please also keep an eye out for due dates on the Calendar function of this site.
- In the Drop Box, you will be able to create folders for each phase of your study (i.e., Proposal, Scientific Committee Application, Ethics Committee Applications, Thesis etc.). You will be guided by your supervisor(s) regarding the organization of the folders.
