RASIONAAL   RATIONALE

The content of this module deals with important processes cell division, protein synthesis, plant and animal tissues, basic physiological terms as well as basic genetic concepts.  This module offers opportunities to establish competences of a beginner teacher, such as: obtaining a sound knowledge base in Cell Processes and Tissues; communicate effectively by applying the Scientific Method as well as cooperative group work in order to mediate learning; and planning a lesson by making use of the CAPS.

To equip students with knowledge and understanding of cell division, protein synthesis, plant and animal tissues, basic physiological terms as well as basic genetic concepts.  To equip students with methodology and skills to teach the mentioned content.  To provide opportunity to develop appropriate skills during practical investigations.  To equip and support students in taking responsibility for their own learning by introducing self-assessment and reflection as learning strategies.  To equip students with basic research skills.
