• I have initial reading strategies, namely scanning and skimming
• I have also learned definitions of these reading strategies
• I have learned the guidelines for these reading strategies
• I have learned how to identify main and supporting ideas in a text
• The structure of a paragraph in a written text
• I have learned how to paraphrase information in a text(steps of paraphrasing)
• finally I have learned the things you should do when paraphrasing and those you should not do.

Topic: Processing and producing academic information-finding sources

What I have learned about the topic?

I have learned that after my initial ideas and questioning of an assignment topic, I need to find out available information about that topic. It is also important to remember if you use more types of sources the information will be more inclusive and comprehensive on the topic. I have also learned about different types of sources. The things that you have to consider in choosing relevant sources.

What I did or did not enjoy about this lecture?

What I have enjoyed in this lecture is how the three steps that explains and identifies differences between the types of sources. I enjoyed the part that explains that in academic writing you should use preferably sources like(books, scientific journal articles, relevant internet articles, newspaper articles, newspaper articles and interviews or observations) because it briefs students on how their academic writing should be and also how to use those sources when writing.

What I know or have read about the topic?

I have read about initial reading strategies. That includes scanning and skimming. I have read guidelines of scanning and definitions of scanning and skimming, and also guidelines of skimming.

What I did not understand or what I want to know about the topic?

I would like to understand how to paraphrase and summarise ideas in an academic writing.

Topic: Processing information-analysing the topic

What I have learned about the topic?

What I have learned about the topic is that academic writing is practiced as a process, one has to attempt to practice writing because it is a ounce-off thing whereby an individual has to practice ounce and get done with it . I have also  learned that it is crucial to practice academic writing. I have learned the structure of an academic essay.

What I did or did not enjoy about this lecture?

I have enjoyed everything about this lecture, because i have gotten a chance to know that it is crucial to practice academic writing, in order to be able to write good assignments and get good marks.

What I know or have read about the topic

What I  have read is that after you have gathered ideas about your topic you need to find out what information is available about this topic. I have also read different types of sources, the purpose of integrating sources, locating credible sources and checking source credibility.

 What I did not understand or want to know more of about the topic?

I would like to know more about the fifth portion which is checking source credibility.
