Topic : producing information -writing for academic purpose

What i have learned about the topic(body of an academic text)

1.the structure of an academic text can be compared to a burger,meaning that if you can remove one part it wont be complete,same applies to an academic text.

2.when  writing an argumentative essay one have to choose a side,defend position and sway the reader.i mostly enjoyed when we were playing with numbers.

ice brake- the game that involved playing with numbers writing numbers in words

What i know about the topic (Introduction of an academic text)

1.structuring of an essay from introduction till the body part of a burger.

2.The introduction of an academic text it contains a definition   of the topic,background,problem and thesis statement and the introduction should be able to grab a readers attention.

What i did not understand or want to know more of about the topic.

 how to avoid redundancy and using ambiguous words ,how to avoid homonym

What I have learned about the topic

I learnt about different types of sources such as books ,newspape and other sources . And  how to identify  sources ,understand and identify the difference between sources types also intergrating sources  in my assignment, how to check credibility of a source and referencing.

What I did or did not enjoy in this lecture

I learnt about initia reading strategies,skimming in a text and scanningand paragraph sructures  

What I did not understand or want to know more about the topic

I want to know more about paraphrasing ideas and paragraph structure when writing my assignment and more about  referencing  and how to use Google scholar and to locate credited journals.
