Listening and Responding to music.

Listening and Responding to music can be how one receives the music they are listening . The are music concepts which helps one receive music and it can give hint on which movement to do and there are music activities or games that can be done in class to learn music.There are Music elements which can be music concepts we can say they are elements that make a song or they are found in music (which are combined to make one). The music concepts are ,there's pitch, melody, beat, rhythm and tone .So in activities the concepts can be used to guide the whole activity ,for instance we can choose pitch as a music concepts and do an activity that can identify the high pitch of the song and the low pitch of the song and then do the activity or we can choose beat where we will be required to do an activity that show how is the beat of the music played.

So learners will be able to do the kinds of musical concepts that exists and they will be able to do it on their own because the understand the music concepts. And this will build their  minds to be better

Lesson planning

A lesson plan is a guide line that a teacher use to guide them on a certain lesson.As a Foundation phase teacher there are aspects that you need to highly consider in your  lesson plan, firstly you must be able to accommodate all learners that requires you to know more about your students, and what you have to know is about their back ground as you wouldn't want to clash with anyone's capabilities it can be interests or religious it must be an equal lesson for everyone. Research more on the topic so that you present a good  lesson to students and a well presentation. Set the outcomes of the lesson like what should the learners know to after the lesson. The kinds of activities that will be done by both the teachers  and students.Materials that will be used to complete the lessons.how to introduce and do about the activities of the lesson. 
My opinion on utilizing art integration in Foundation Phase it can be to hit to birds with one stone where by  you will be teaching two lesson  lessons in one, it can link the subjects that are taught  in Foundation Phase. It interrelated, again it helps to keep the mind of a student more active and develops and enrich the mind of the student.
My perspective with regards to planning a lesson and the inclusion music throughout teaching and learning in Foundation Phase has changed as I have learned  more about  how to plan a  music activity, what  the concepts that has to be followed to actually do a music activity. I now understand why is music  a Life Skills topic have learned the bvenefits of music to children ,how does it  impact the students.

Arts Integration

It is an interesting approach  where learners will have to learn through Arts .Art is a good thing it benefits in so many ways it can relax mind and activate mind of learners.I think Art integration is a good approach as it bring motivation to learners that they can do it and it broadens their mind into knowing more and building their creative thinking. What I found  interesting is that learners mind are developed they get to think abroad and above I think this teach the decision making as they have to speak their  mind in arts share their thoughts. Learners develop their social interaction with their peers so this helps them in sharing of ideas. What I find challenging is that learners  can not all be interested in arts some might find challenges in creative thinking so the teacher might have problems dealing with that and it might be time consuming.

Music play in Foundation Phase

Music play in Foundation Phase is necessary as learnersget to sing and dance and they get to explore in sound when they do music activities, it aims to improve the learners' skills in music, and by this their social interaction will be improved by this learners will be freely able to take the part in activities not only in Life Skills but other subjects.

In the scenario, Some learner was uncomfortable with the activity because they did not understand the language so it was difficult for them to be part of the activity as they did not understand the language or what is be said while singing. Then again the was religious issues, where one learner who is a girl had found it difficult to take part in the activity because it is against their religion, the are not supposed to dance (inappropriately) before boys this caused the discomfort in the learner they are the thing that the teacher didn't take into consideration.

The teacher could have chosen a song that all learners understand the language to accommodate the learners who are not familiar with the language to be part to of the activity. The teacher could have considered the song that everyone can perform to, which is not against other learners religion .The teacher can not make Muslims to take part in a Christian activity that will bring confusion to the child. In a music activity all learners must take part.

I am so delighted to learn about holistic development ,as I learn to how children develop and why they do what they do sometimes.I now understand music can have such impact on learners in Foundation phase. The importance and the value of music for holistic development of learners in Life Skills. Music play a good role of support in development of a learner
