Hello everyone, am doing good and I hope you also doing well, I have had a great week even though it wss stressful and tiring, I am managing to pull throung.
1. As an LSKM 221 student, I saw that I was drowning thks semester compared to LSKA 211. I don't know whether my laziness took over or I was not committed to my studies, I was drowning to the point whereby I failed Assignment 2, perhaps I did not believe more on myself.
2. - I learned that I was not being committed to my studies this semester.
- Assignment 2, I found it challenging because it is my only worry that I could fail this module because of it and my negligence. It challenged me to the point whereby I sat myself down and wonder where I went wrong.
- yes, because it gave me the chance to open up amd express myself.
3. - Activities that we did, they were helpful for me to understand music and art.
- Listening and responding to music, I found it difficult for me to understand the basic elements of music, I used to mix up their definitions.
- Everything I learnt in LSKM was useful to me because that is what I will be expected to teach or present as a teacher.
Thank you, let's all have blessed holidays.
Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well as am also doing well I had a great week and even though I am so stressed about my perfomance.
1. Because in most cases art integration is not taken seriously and some think art will distance learners from their school work, as they will focus more on art and less an their studies.
2. As a FP teacher I will plan an assessment based on teaching and learning with music and invite the HOD to observe and see how quickly learners learn and how open and contributive they are, maybe after the lesson he/she will change his/her mind and let teachers teach art integration.
Goodday everyone, I hope you are all doing well, am doing good and I had a great week. What challenged me lately was time management, I didn't plan properly for my work.
1. Art integration is not a waste of time because it make learning easy, strengthens problem-solving and critical thinking skills, improves verbal, reading and mathematics skills, learners get a chance to observe more, reduces stress and motivates learners to learn.
2. Teaching and learning with music
- It is interesting because it attracts full attention of learners, learners become more engaged and committed to their activities.
- Like in a case study we read in SU3 whereby learners where not feeling comfortable or did not understand the language used in a song, those could the challenges.
Good day, am good and it has been a great week.
Reflection
Good day everyone. A doing good and it has been a great week for me.
Reflection
What I have learnt from this study unit is that it is based on three theories which are Erikson, Piaget and Vygotsky.
Musical holistic development
It is based more on musical activities and have 5 development stages.
Stages are
1. Physical development- It is perfomed when learners dance while playing music. As they dance learners learn balance, coordination, motor skills and bodily awareness.
2. Cognitive development- Learners gain knowledge while playing music like teaching English or Numeracy skills with music.
3. Social development- Learners learn as they get interact with their social surroundings. As they sing with groups they form new relationships.
4. Personal development- Learners develop and grow personally, only when they have self-esteem, confidence and believe in themselves.
5. Emotional development- Learners are attached to the music, they are able to understand each other's emotions. And they know when to manage their moods and which songs calm them.
