I remember singing in on assembly every morning that was very intresting moments i really loved assembly.
I don't have much memories of music because at our school we didn't have music as part of our school subject. The only time we used to sing was on assembly or during sport events. We enjoyed that moment.
I remember one day the teacher who leads us for singing on assembly made us sing our favourite song at the school we were singing until we passed the time for assembly we were dancing until the Principal stops us
If i had the opportunity to change things i would make music one of the school subject , because learners learn in different ways, and music can change your bad moods to good one, it brings all children together and it helps with physical activities since learners use their bodies.
Hi I hope you are all well i'm tying to push most of my work today , I just hope that i'm on the right track . I have 2 more assignments that are due tomorrow it is very hectic. I'm trying my level best to balance my university work. I work full time and its worse because is very busy at work.
1. If I had to choose, I would choose indigenous African music. It gives you a sense of belonging , the songs are central to identity. It embraces everyone's culture. Music highlights African values. We can learn from each other different types of music and dances according to their different cultures. Indigenous African music usually tells a story there always motive behind the music that was created . As a learner you can tell a story to learners after you sing a song related to the story. We will make music instruments using teaspoons, bucket, and others to sing and dance to the music. Learners will be encouraged to wear traditional clothes according to their culture and sing songs of indigenous African music.
2. Yes. This study unit make us aware that learners have different needs in terms of learning, through music we can address these unique needs of our leaners with all their senses. learners using different movement, singing in different language. Inclusivity goes beyond accommodating physical or cognitive and learning related challenges. This study unit teaches us that every child should be accommodate in class regardless race, culture or religion .
3. I think overall study unit is inclusive, but I will give learners a chance to tell me what songs they want to sing, or which songs they sing when playing out with friends. I would give them freedom to sing what they what, and as a teacher to learn from them. I would encourage learner centred approach.
