I remember singing in on assembly every morning  that was very intresting moments i really loved assembly.

I don't have much memories of music because at our school we didn't have music as part of our school subject. The only time we used to sing was on assembly or during sport events. We enjoyed that moment.

I remember one day the teacher who leads us for singing on assembly made us sing our favourite song at the school we were singing until we passed the time for assembly we were dancing until the Principal stops us

If i had the opportunity to change things i would make music one of the school subject , because learners learn in different ways, and music can change your bad moods to good one, it brings all children together and it helps with physical activities since learners use their bodies.

Performing arts and music is neglected because they don't take it seriously . In most cases they think it will not form part of your career therefore why waste time on something that is useless.

Assessment is needed for helping the learner and the teacher with the progress. We need to test their knowledge and help them to achieve the outcome of the subject.

1. I learnt a lot from LSKM 221 , especially teaching music.  I personally love music with all my heart but i realised that teaching music it's a different story and is little bit difficult.  There are rules you have to follow.

2. Music Individual reflections is necessary because you can go back to look at your strength and weakness. It will allow you to better in your teaching.

Time management was very challenging to me, i tried with all that i can to complete my work on time. Somehow i managed.

Individual reflection is very meaningful as it helps with growth in the processes of teaching.

3. Group assignments are very intresting, you get to meet different people who are talented and some had music skills, this benefit the individual by learning from each other.

I cannot say i found anything unvaluable because what i have gained from my practicals is needed for my future teaching.

Good day fellow students , this has been a great week for me, i went out with my family to gold reef city ,just to take a break from my studies.  I was going crazy so i needed something to help me recharge.  So today i have to face reality back to university work.  I'm behind with my work so i'm trying to cover up.

 1. Some people might think art intergration is a waste of time. Its good for  learning and teaching.  It build a strong relationship with learners.  It helps learners with language skills, motor skills. Art promotes creativity . Learners gets to recognise new skills in themselves. It encourages learning and understanding.

2. Art integration can also help with teaching other subjects

Good evening fellow student , how are you all doing i hope you are all well.  There is no time to relax family, work, and nwu wow this is overwhelming. i just cant wait for this semester to finish.

According to scenario , some learners felt uncomfortable because of language barriers , they didn't understand the language of the song.

Some felt uncomfortable because of their cultural background and religious beliefs.

i will use common language that is understood by all learners , LOLT of the school. I will give all learners freedom to choose if they want to dance or not . I would consider their opinions.

I will make sure that i make learners aware that all learners are different and unique. They should respect each other

Hi I hope you are all well i'm tying to push most of my work today , I just hope that i'm on the right track . I have 2 more assignments that are due tomorrow it is very hectic.  I'm trying my level best to balance my university work. I work full time and its worse because is very busy at work.

1. If I had to choose, I would choose indigenous African music.  It gives you a sense of belonging , the songs are central to identity.  It embraces everyone's culture.  Music highlights African values. We can learn from each other different types of music and dances according to their different cultures.  Indigenous African music usually tells a story there always motive behind the music that was created . As a learner you can tell a story to learners after you sing a song related to the story. We will make music instruments using teaspoons, bucket, and others to sing and dance to the music.  Learners will be encouraged to wear traditional clothes according to their culture and sing songs of indigenous African music.

2. Yes.  This study unit make us aware that learners have different needs in terms of learning, through music we can address these unique needs of our leaners with all their senses. learners using different movement, singing in different language.  Inclusivity goes beyond accommodating physical or cognitive and learning related challenges. This study unit teaches us that every child should be accommodate in class regardless race, culture or religion .

3. I think overall study unit is inclusive, but I will give learners a chance to tell me what songs they want to sing, or which songs they sing when playing out with friends. I would give them freedom to sing what they what, and as a teacher to learn from them. I would encourage learner centred approach.

Gooday this has been a hectic week for me,  i'm all behind with my work because I wasn't sure about individual blog, I am so frustrated sometimes I feel like my brain is failing because it doesn't want to work ,

By the time children enter school , they have ability to listen , singing abilities improve dramatically during the middle childhood years, with increases in both range and accuracy noted(kim, 2000) They now choose music they like and understand elements of music. Children use household item to make music instruments. They develop skills such as clapping hands to  the melody.

Value of music for holistic development, Music helps learners to have refreshed mind, it also helps them learning new words. It helps them to strengthen their memory skills. It helps children to develop self confidence. It helps learners to express their feelings. Most of the children loves to dance and it improves their co-ordination.
