Evening everyone
I'm struggling to keep up with the blogs because I feel that I'm under a lot of pressure and LSKM is one of the modules that I'm struggling with.
To add on the points that I have learned I remember it is important to ifentide and demonstrate detailed knowledge and understanding of music concepts and elements.
Evaluation and selection of appropriate teaching methods for learners to understand the concept better.
Hello guys
My name is Evodia Lekhetho. As I have been trying to write my blog but I was struggling since I don't have any experience in writing a blog so today I decided to give it a try.
I'm just gonna write a brief summary of the study unit 1.
Vygotsky's zone of proximal development according to my understanding it relates to the difference between what a child can achieve with guidance and encouragement from a skilled partner.
Both Piaget and Vygotsky thought learning is what leads to the development of higher order thinking. However, Piaget took a more constructivist view and focused on the indivuindi, while Vygotsky used an active theory approach that focused on social interaction. In general the knowledge of Piaget's stages helps the teacher to understand cognitive development of the child as the teacher plans stage appropriate activities to keep learners active.
In Vygotsky's theory , language is the most important symbol system in the tool kit, and it is one that helps to fill the kit with other tools.
Piaget's and Vygotsky's theories
These two theories complement each other because they point towards a concept called holistic education. Educating the whole child means developing those cognitive skills along with the social skills and knowledge. Taking eiyhee theory by itself is an oversimplication of a complex learner and learning process
The importance of holistic development
With all this being said I would choose holistic approach to teach my learners so that they are able to enjoy our teaching and learning sessions.
