Good evening everyone, WOW what a tough year this has been on almost all of us i believe.

as we approach the end of an academic year I am certain that some of us might feel excited or nervous of what the future might hold. we have a few tests and assignments and then we approach the third year. I hope that we can all feel proud of ourselves once we get the marks and find comfort in the fact that we did our best. this module has certainly been one of my challenging ones as I sometimes struggle to express myself but still it has also been one of my most interesting modules and I  greatfull that this module has taught me so much. I loves the fact that we could get creative with this module and that we had to think out of the box.

to all of you, I wish you well with this last stretch of the semester and year and when the holiday comes enjoy every moment.

Hello everyone I hope that you enjoyed your week and that everyone is still motivated.

teachers often neglect the value of music in a class room because of poor time management or simply because they cannot find enough time in the day to reach every aspect that needs to be covered. some teachers might not take part in the teaching of music and play because it might not be a strong skill for them or it might not interest them. never the less music and play is utterly important to learners in the foundation phase and it enhances academic performances. it can be used to motivate the learners as well for example if your class does not particularly enjoy math you can motivate them by telling them that if they work hard for half an hour they can play a music game for ten minutes. this encourages them to complete their work and also gets them excited.

as teachers we should keep in mind that the child is our first priority and that we should always accomodate them whenever possible

kind greetings

good day students

it has been a struggle to blog as frequently seeing as one of our grade 2 teachers has been on maternity leave end I suddenly had to fill in. the experience has been mind blowing and I truly enjoy each and every moment, even the most challenging ones. As a student teacher I have been trying my best to inncorperate all the things that I learn from all the module especially this one because children get excited about music and it is a very fun way to draw the attention back to me when they are wondering of into their own little worlds. I never thought that music can motivate the learners as much as it does and it is exciting to be able to experience this first hand. It has and still is a tough term  but the end is near and so is the semester. I hope you are all keeping your heads up and only looking at the positive side of things

until next time.

Good day to all of you, I hope you are all keeping your heads above water ☺️

Working through this module is definitely enjoyable and I have learned so many things that I was not aware of. As we learned in our first year children learn through play and having fun. This module is so important to education and teaching because it reminds us that children need to have fun through singing dancing learning new songs and learning about rhythm.

I was intrigued by all the different types of "play"  such as solitary play where children aren't bothered by what the other children are doing. Associative play was especially interesting because it is unorganized group play. Vygotsky exolains that play incorporates imagination and that it is very important for children to participate in play because it develops their zone of proximal development

hello everyone , my name is Shante and I am currently 20 years old turning 21 in January.

I am a second year student and I am very excited for this semester. I have already worked through study unit one and I am very interested and curious as to what this module will teach me. I am eager to learn the impact music has on learners  in the foundation phase.

I have already learned so much from study unit one and the three theories and developments;

I especially love vygotsky and the zone of proximal development as it is very interesting and makes sense to me that a childs social interactions can influence their way of learning

it has been a tough week since we returned to full capacity and from next week I will be  teaching grade three since one of our teachers has covid.  I hope that I can use some things in this module to help the learners and to better understand the importance of music.

I hope you all have an amazing week ahead of you , stay safe and work hard heart
