My experiences as the student with these blogs and forums of LSKM was a bit hard for me, because I had to write for everyone to see what I wrote, I don't have much faith in myself, but they helped a lot. With music I don't know how to sing but I love singing and I listen to music a lot. It was an interesting journey for me the things I have learnt and now I know what to do when teaching music to the learners and the importance of teaching music to students because it helps students with their development and have a bit of fun in the classroom, for instance art is important for students who sometimes don't understand much in the classroom. the challenges that I had were that I did have enough time to do the blogs. It was hard with lot of work and school work but at the end we tried to do so. For me I think the blogs and forums should be used more often because it helps us to be able to express or say what we have learnt with other students or share. It helps to see that we have understand what we have learnt.  

Lesson planning is important because it shows what you are going to teach and what is the goal of the lesson. There are things that need to be considered when planning a lesson plan and there are things that need to be avoided in order to  present the successful lesson to students, but first you need to check the CAPS document on what are the themes for that term, but for music it has to be creative arts. teacher needs to be prepared and not over prepared, have fun in the classroom because students may fall asleep and involve the students, can use videos, songs, rhymes anything that will keep them focused. teacher should not talk too much in class. need to know my students know their weakness. when planning music  lesson you need to start the lesson with music and end it with music. When playing music one need to have a specific aim, the music that played for students should contribute towards reaching the lesson aim. Guide students in listening to the music and give leaners  criteria, the elements should focus on. The introduction is important teaching and learning phase- conclusion structure in mind because it could assist in planning teaching and learning activities.       

WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO INTEGRATE ART?

Working art helps the learners to develop creative problem-solving skills. Teaching through art also helps with presenting difficult concepts visually and making it more easy to understand to the learners. The art instruction helps the children with their development of motor skills, language skills, social skills and decision-making. Visual art teaches students about color, layout, perspective and balance integrating art with other disciplines reaches students who might not otherwise be engaged in classwork. Arts provide challenges for learners at all levels. Art education helps to connect students with their own culture as well as with the wider world. Arts help to improve students memory and concentration skills. They develop decision making skills and critical thinking skills. When teaching through art you are helping students that are difficult to students and have better understanding because they can see or do that their reading a book. Art integration helps students and it encourages them in healthy risk taking, and kids are able to recognize new skills themselves and others. Students become more active participants in their learning and can work through problem-solving and innovate new solutions.

Play can be used in the foundation phase classroom because it allows children or learners to be creative, self confidence, stress management, memory, language and symbol recognition and social skills. Children being able to investigate and explore different things and that gives gives the learners an opportunity to experiment the outcomes. play in the classroom is important because learners in the foundation phase learn through play. Play allows learners in the foundation phase learn through play and the learners has the ability of improving in their language, social, physical , math, science and their thinking skills. These developments encourage them with their self-esteem. Play gives children an opportunity to think or being creative. Creative thinking skills plays an important role in children's mood and brain development. Play, plays an important in building children's children's self confidence, then children will be free to explore their ideas and no other student can judge them and it will give the confidence they need and be  able to participate in the classroom. Children learning to play has good benefits. Children has a right to choose which play they want to play in the classroom.      

Music is about more than just playing an instrument, it is about one can express depths of ones spirit and soul. The connection between music and mathematics is that they both use patterns. in music you repeat choruses and section of songs and in mathematics patterns are to explain and predict the unknown. You can study most things in music but from different categories of mathematics like geometry, number theory, trigonometry etc. Music is helpful when it comes to learning mathematics, music teaches one a valuable life lesson. Music is an instrument that helps to develop cognitive skills and it allows students to relate and be able to enjoy few minutes of their stay at schools. According to Plato "music penetrates most deeply into recesses of the soul, language and music define us as humans according to Aniruddh Patel.

My name is Samkelisiwe Mkhize, I am 32 years old from Pietermaritzburg in Kwazulu Natal. I am a 2nd year student doing foundation phase. I am currently working as a caregiver and I love my job very much because I am working with different kinds of people and it is teaching me to be calm and patience. I want to be a foundation teacher because I love children and I want to give back in my community. I am passionate about working with different kinds of people and I love to learn new things. LSKM will take it step by step and I love singing and music unfortunately I am a terrible singer but I love singing. I am hoping to learn a lot about music and how to compose it.
