SU 5 LESSON PLANNING

3 Dec 2021, 16:49 Publicly Viewable

Creating a lesson plan is essential and also helps in keeping things in order. A teacher should make a lesson plan fun, creative and attention grabbing. Asking learners questions will test their prior knowledge, this allows learners to be actively involved. Learners should be allowed to challenge themselves and summarise the content to the teacher. Teacher must make use of CAPS Document to understand how arts integrate with other subjects and must come up with a strategy to accommodate diverse needs of learners. Teacher must develop a positive teaching and learning environment in which all learners feel welcomed, safe, supported and appreciated.

Lesson planning helps teachers to be fully prepared to teach new concepts and lead meaningful discussions. Without a lesson plan, learners can loose focus and leave the teacher lost not knowing what to do next.

Concepts of music are known as music elements. We have 8 music concepts such as Pitch, Rhythm, Harmony, Timbre, Dynamics, structure, beat, and Tempo.

For learners to know this concepts, they need to frequently listen to music in order to recognize various musical aspects. Using musical activities to teach arithmetic will make learning more entertaining and appealing to children while also improving their cognitive thinking.

We use these patterns to create music and we respond emotionally and intellectually to our perception and interpretations of these patterns of music.
