Music, dance, sketching, poetry, and other arts are incorporated into the learning process through art integration. In the foundation phase, art integration is extremely beneficial and necessary since teaching through the arts may portray topics visually, making them easier to understand, and learners can also build problem-solving skills.
Teachers can use art integration to support and increase learners' developmental needs while also allowing them to participate in engaging learning activities that encourage cooperative learning and enhance creativity.
The following are some of the aspects of study unit 4 that I found interesting
I've realized that arts integration may transform the learning experience since it allows us to construct teaching and learning settings that cater to each student's unique learning talents and needs. allowing students to freely express their comprehension
The following are some of the aspects of Study Unit 4 that I found difficult:
Integrative planning strategies
WHAT POSSIBLE MADE SOME LEARNERS UNCOMFORTABLE DURING THESE ACTIVITIES?
Due to the religious reasons, a girls felt uncomfortable to dance in front of boys. The other reason was the boy who was concern in the use of the Zulu language as the medium instruction of facilitating the game.
WHY WERE SOME LEARNERS UNCOMFORTABLE
Some of the learners were not able to understand the game because of the use of Zulu language, i think some students were not able to understand Zulu.
CAN YOU THINK OF WAYS TO ADRESS THESE ISSUES IN FUTURE? WHAT WILL YOUCHANGE
The best way to solve the language issue in the class is to use English as the language of instruction in each and every activity in the classroom. I will ensure that language that I use for instructions is known by each learner
HOW CAN WE ACCOMMODATE DIVERSE LEARNERS PROFILE IN OUR CLASSROOMS? WHAT MUST WE BE AWARE OF ?
The needs of diverse learners have to come first. it is important to know what kinds of learners you are worki9ng with plan a classroom design around their needs, we must take into account that learners respond to learning based on readiness, interest, and learning profile.
LANGUAGE: Language arts and music have one of the closest topic area relationships, and it is always beneficial to learn a new language through music because language and music share the elements of pitch, time, and timbre. Children's language processing abilities and vocabulary expansion, for example, improve as they become more familiar with these concepts through musical teaching.
MATHEMATICS: Musical patterns, rhythm, and tempo support mathematical concepts such as sequencing, simple counting, and patterns. Music creates an order that helps children learn the patterns important in early math such repetition and relationships.
The information that i gathered in the study unit 1 based of the title above mentioned, I am well aware that engagement in authentic, play-based music activities could support the holistic development of foundation phase learners. I have realised that leaners it is crucial for learners for learners to engage in music experience activities, because it play a role in promoting their holistic development.
There are different types of holistic development namely physical development, cognitive development, social development, personal development and emotional development of learners especially in foundation phase and they all interact with each other and bring a well developed child through the music engagements .
