Reflection lesson1
Super brains
I’ve learned so much about planetary geography, and it’s honestly taken me on a whole new journey
through geography. In this study unit, I learned about the origin of the universe and Earth’s place in
the solar system. The unit explained what the universe is and what it consists of, such as galaxies,
stars, planets, and gases. The universe is the biggest followed by galaxies then solar system. I learned
about the Big Bang theory as the main explanation for the beginning of the universe. The study also
highlighted the solar system’s position in the Milky Way galaxy. I learned that the planet rotates on it
axis and revolves around the sun at different pace. On the earth the rotation of the earth is
responsible for day and night while the revolution is responsible for the change of seasons. I think
that the information of the study unit is also important so that we can have a better understanding
about why the earth can sustain and support life.
I found it interesting to explore the planets of the solar system and their unique characteristics.
Earth’s special position in the “goldilocks” was emphasized, showing why life can exist here. I also
learned about the movement of Earth and other planets around the Sun. What l enjoyed the most
was learning about the Kepler law because it explains the motion of planets around the sun.
Moreover, the most interesting part was learning about the characteristics of 8 planets and that they
are categories into two groups terrestrial and Jovian.
The most difficult part, however, was trying to understand the table that included the contributions
of Galileo, Newton, and Tycho which I still find it challenging. Overall, this unit is relevant because it
helps us understand our place in space and appreciate why Earth is unique
