Teachings and beliefs

As a Christian, my worldview has been influenced by various beliefs and experiences, but two teachings have had a particularly profound impact due to my unique context. Firstly, the emphasis on community and interconnectedness, stemming from the struggles , has taught me the importance of collective strength and support in our faith journey. This has instilled in me a strong sense of responsibility towards others and a commitment to social justice. Secondly, the concept of 'ubuntu,' which emphasizes humanity towards others and the interconnectedness of all people, has shaped my understanding of love, forgiveness, and reconciliation. These teachings, twist with my Christian faith, have guided me towards compassion, forgiveness, and working towards a more just society. Growing up , these beliefs continue to guide my actions and shape my worldview, reminding me of the importance of community, compassion, and the duty to create a better future for everyone.

As social beings, we have a natural desire for connection and a sense of belonging, which our real life networks help fulfil. These networks, formed by our regular interactions with others, influence our beliefs and daily experiences. In this blog , I will examine the individuals in my home network and explore how I communicate with them. When I reflect on my connections at home, the individuals who come to mind are my family members. The network consists of my parents, two siblings, and myself. Our strong bond has developed over the years of living together, holding each other's imperfections and standing by one another in both good and challenging times. Our relationships have matured from childhood to a trusted family in adulthood. My parents are the central support system in my family. They have always been there for me, offering guidance, emotional support, and financial assistance whenever necessary. Although I used to view them as my role model in my youth, as I have grown older, our relationship has grown into friendship and mutual respect. I appreciate their constant love and presence in my life. My siblings are my closest buddies , despite the disagreements we always have . They understand me more than anyone else, and we have a strong bond . I cherish the memories we've made, enjoying our conversations we shared . I appreciate the deep and loving connection I have with my siblings. In addition to my family, I am also connected to a group that includes my extended family and family friends. Although we may not get together often, when we do, it feels like no time has passed. We enjoy catching up, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories. While these relationships may not be as with my immediate family, they still hold a significant place in my heart. The interactions within my personal networks cover of a lot of activities. At home, I communicate in a continuous way of affection and empathy with my family. We openly share our happiness and difficulties, which helps our relationships. When interacting with my extended family and family friends, the focus is on reconnecting and preserving a sense of unity. In conclusion , the connections I have at home are extremely important to me. They offer me a feeling of belonging and affection. These bonds have taught me the significance of communication, understanding, and tolerance. They have contributed a lot to my personal development and I appreciate each and every one of them

A day in a life of a varsity student

Every morning, I wake up and check my class schedule. I usually spend some time in bed watching TikTok videos before finally getting up. After I've had enough screen time, I make my bed, open the windows and curtains to let in fresh air and light, and then search for my slippers to clean up my living space. Next, I head to the bathroom to brush my teeth. Once that's done, I enjoy some cereal while watching a movie. After breakfast, I wash my dishes, take a bath, and get ready for the day ahead on campus.
It takes about 15 minutes to walk to campus, depending on your walking speed. Before heading to campus, I need to pick up a friend who takes the same modules as me. Once we arrive on campus, we may encounter unfamiliar faces in the hallways and in our class. However, once we sit down in class, we focus on listening to our lecturer and taking notes. The lecturer often plays videos to help us better understand the study material. After the class ends, my friend and I quickly move to our next class and repeat the same routine.
After finishing classes, my friend and I usually head to the nearest supermarkets to pick up some snacks for later. Once we have our items, we make our way back to our place. Upon returning home, I quickly whip up a simple meal like spaghetti with mince. After eating, I wash the dishes and review my class notes. Finally, I prepare for bed and get some rest
