They even include the starving African who wonders the refugee camp nearly naked and waits for the benevolence of the West. Western writers when they write about Africa they even include loyal servants that behave like a seven-year-old and this proves that there is inequality of powers between societies.

EXOTICIZATION 

Wainaina shout out the drift of Western writers of writing about Africa as an exotic century,as they discuss about how Africa represent their selves this includes Africans that wore animals skin and women with naked breasts. Western writers refer Africa as a century with filthy and miserable people. Western writers usually judge food that Africans eat as Africa depend on primates Western writers even exoticize the Africans bodies by making approbrious remarks that they have black lips and rounded buttocks.Wainaina is trying to call out that tendency and make the Western society see the beauty of being an African.
