Anthropology is " about making the strange familiar and the familiar strange "

Growing up as a Xhosa person in a Xhosa household , you get to learn how to live or do things from your elders , as a young girl who is part of a Diba clan i was told that as a family we are royalty , therefore we must be respectful amongst elders around us  and everytime there is a ceremony Kwa Ndlunkulu which means a  great grandparent's house  as grandchildren of the family we must be part of the ceremony so that our ancestors can acknowledge our presence and bless us to be successful in everything we are trying to archieve in that period of time and when you dream about a person who passed away you have to go to the gravesite to talk to that certain person , so that when the person comes through your dreams again ,  he or she can be direct about what they want you to do .

Being Xhosa you get to learn how to leave amongst your ancestors even though they are not physically around but they are spiritually available and guiding you in every decision you make  .When they are not happy , they show you signs one way or another .
