NWU provides many leisure and recreational activities. 
1.The offer High performance activities: (Sports) rugby, hockey ,cricket , athletics, soccer ,tennis and net ball. 
2. They also provide the students with competitive activities such as: cross country, water polo, karate , canoeing, basketball and gymnastics.
3. Under recreation the offer: chess, Esport, dance sports. 

Havard University in the USA
Offers : (sports) diving, Ice hockey and rowing . They also offer wrestling,  sailing and lacrosse as leisure activities for the students. 

University of Milan at Italy 
Offers: Sport fishing, dragon boat and Shooting as their recreational activities
The North West University does not offer many activities that other Universities overseas are offering because of situations like , there's no snow in South Africa and skiing requires snow to engage in that activity , other reasons are because of we don't have most resources to provide/accommodate to other students which may be because of  their expensive like boats as example and because South is not economically developed.
