   Leisure and recreational opportunites presented at Higher Institutions locally and international (USA)

Do the local and international universities offer the same recreational and leisure opportunites ? In fact both foriegn and local instutions potray thier own uniqueness  from cost of studying to different environnement factors starting from the recreatiobnal and leisure programme they are offering, éducation facilites and heritage sites and  so  forth but now under this blog we will be watching at leisure and recreational opportunites from North  West University in South Africa  and Stanford University in USA. To 

 

1. LEISURE AND RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITES IN NWU

• IN POTCHESTROOM Campus they have sixteen tennis courts , eight rugby fields and three soccer fields where there is more space for everyone who wants to participate and there are opportunites to join the varsity teams. 

• Swimming pools, four hockey fields, five cricket fields for those who futhering thier studies in sport scinces and recreational administrations.

• There is fully equiped gymunsim where all the NWU students can aqquire the membership to be able to use it

• Advanced gymunsim with réhabilitation swimming pool and ice bath.

 

 

2. LEISURE AND RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITES IN Stanford University 

• AOERC  facility informationThe Arrillaga Outdoor Education and Recreation Center (AOERC) is located at 285 Santa Teresa St. The AOERC provides 75,000 square foot of indoor recreation space, a 50-meter outdoor pool, state-of-the-art Climbing Wall and Outdoor Education Center, classroom spaces, locker rooms and showers, fitness center, and three indoor basketb

 

• The LKSC Fitness Center is located on the 4th floor of Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge. This fitness facility is only open to medical students and biosciences graduate students – postdocs, faculty, staff and undergraduates are not permitted. The fitness center is equipped with ellipticals, treadmills, indoor cycling bikes, a recumbent bike, a stair stepper, a Concept 2 rowing machine, a Cybex cable stack, various Cybex resistance training machines, dumbbells up to 80lbs, fixed barbells up to 110lbs, kettlebells, a roman chair, a dip station, stretching mats, TRX suspension trainer, resistance bands, foam rollers and more. Day use lockers, changing rooms, and showers are also located on the 4th floor. Eligibility to the LKSC fitness center is accessible via Stanford Medicine ID badge access. 

 

• Stanford  Outdoor Fitness Court

       e Stanford Outdoor Fitness Court, on Arguello Field (map), is an outdoor bodyweight gym featuring a seven-station circuit training system for a full-body workout. Stanford opened this fitness court as part of National Fitness Campaign, a social enterprise planning to open fitness courts in 100 cities across America in 2018.

 

 

3. LEISURE AND RECREATION OPPORTUNITES IN HARVAD UNIVERSITY 

 The Malkin Athletic Center (MAC) is the main recreational fitness and wellness center for all students  and faculty on Harvard’s campus. The MAC opened in 1930 as the Indoor Athletic Building. It was renamed after Peter L. Malkin (AB 1955) who provided the funding for renovations to the MAC in 1985.

 

• The MAC has two cardio Rooms which contain over 70 pieces of exercise equipment 

• The MAC two Weight Rooms with various types of Weight lifting equipment 

• The MAC has à volley-ball  court and 25 yard pool

 

 

The Evaluation the nwu provision of leisure and recreation service to students not in terms Of provision service but In terms Of how it address student development. 

• Not all students gets the same recreational opportunities in NWU in terms Of insufficient recreational facilities.

• The Gymnasium is used by only the students who only participate in sport or who do sport sciences Qualifications

• 90% of students  don’t even get development from any of recreational facilities presented in the instution
