The danger of being different

What it is that we always judge people because they are different from us , it is because we are stereotypes, to us difference means inferior and we don't want them to infect us with their violence, dirty and careless.

The origin of stereotype

Stereotype was established in the era of colonization when  Europeans saw Africans as being primitive society which  needed saving from hunting for food and being unskilled. As Wainana mentioned that Africans were seen miserable and the food that was eaten was portrayal of how unhuman Africa is as a country. And European was there to help make African people be civilized. The Ted Talk by Ngozi conveys how Africans did not get the chance to tell their story and that stereotypes are not only incomplete but they make one story become the only story.

Stereotypes within ethnical groups

Within South Africa stereotypes was caused by Apartheid,  the law of Native Reserves.  This led people not to see themselves as diverse but superior over others because of different culture and language. To believe that Zulu tribe are stubborn and Xhosa tribe are liars have resulted people being afraid to build relationships because of information that was passed from suffered apartheid elders and the generation was left to suffer the results of their believes. Stereotype also brought positivity as some stereotypes are tru as Pedi tribe practice witchcraft and Colored tribe are violent as saved lot of people out there not to be victims of such treatment

Stereotypes has caused stigmazation and Africa is the proof of that . Another Ted talk by William states that Africa is continuously shown that is poor through advertisements aid from European countries  to implement that African is poor and still need the kind European savior. Diversity doesn't exist within the world.
