Anthropology has irrefutably proven that the pen is mightier than the sword, in my experience upon much introspection, I have found the power of propaganda and stereotypes has influenced my way of thinking to a great extent.

I could possibly argue that growing up in a diverse community would eradicate these "bacward" notions , however, it didn't. Despite my efforts to conceal the supposed problematic learnings from family, school and even undeniable observation. I have seen that othering has become something second to nature, an unavoidable norm which protrudes through distinctive actions corresponding to the affirmations of the above stated.

Adeche in the TED TALK titled the danger of a single story firmly elucidates the reflective view of how biased depictions have the power to create an exoticization of certain demographics with the exclusion of the diaspora, creating a perspective that only highlights one side of the story, something I can affirm I have contributed by utilizing certain negative or positive stereotypes as confirmation to substantiate my arguments in the past.

However, knowing what I was raised to understand which was the opposite, I have found myself afflicted by the confirmations of some stigmatizations as I struggle to grapple with the reality of what I have seen. Alas, I have had to challange my way of thinking to alter my perception of reality.

I have learned certain mannerisms, forms of articulation and ways of portraying myself in a manner that rebels against the stereotypes placed upon my demographic to defy the common expectation that that all black females are a certain way this is the danger as I transformed my ways to be reflected as a "non-other" through the means of harmful practices such as code switching which resulted in a certain loss off my native identity one I still struggle to conform to.

In conclusion, through the above analysis it can be deduced that my learnings from the content ingested as a younger version of myself through different depictions has certainly shaped my responses and contribution to othering.
