Fabian define othering as the process by which the colonizing other (the west) establishes identify by defining and producing the colonized others, as subject. I define othering as a thief of your identity and has reasons for happiness. Stereotyping is described as assentialist belief of a specific group it also involves the process of which is exoticism. I will futher unpack my argument in which i will reflect my own stereotypes. growing up was though for us blacks but to me be in university is classified as equal no matter what language you are speaking or what your skin colour is, we are classified as one diverse and beautify country which is exotic and unique (B Wainana 2005). THis reflect singe story which demonstrate the Africanauthencity(C Ngozi 2009)

Belief is something that is accepted, considered, to be true or held as an opinion. As a Zulu person we belief to the presents of ancestral spirits, known as amadlozi and abaphansi. The ancestor's present come in the form of dreams, sickness and snakes. The opportune time to communicate with ancestor's are during birth, puberty, marriage and death. They also believe to god (unkulunkulu) who is above interacting in day-to-day human life.

As Zulu people we believe that all the young girls are supposed to practice or attend the process of vagina check from the age of 13 and till the girl get married. But at the age of 21 all the girls made their parents to thank them by doing the ceremony of umemulo which means the parents are thankful that the girl made them proud by not getting pregnant and also respected the family members till she reach the age of 21.

The boys are given chores from the age of six, it their duty to look after their fathers herd ( ukulusa). Just after sunrise the young boys leave the kraal with the cattle and return later in the morning. After the cows are milked, they have breakfast and go back to pastures until after sunset.

They way we as zulu people and other people we have different beliefs and cultures that guide us from the day we were born which is very important to know where you come from , knowing your roots is very important its  make a person to be proud of who they are.
