My Zulu upbringing teachings

In the context of my Zulu upbringing, there's a lot of teachings that are within my Zulu community. Hence, I'll be prevailing on two of those teachings that are notable and have played a vital part in my upbringing and particularly in my life.

RESPECT AND VALUING COMMUNITY

Respect in my Zulu community is a core element in our sphere and in life in the Zulu community, or, I'll say, one of the most important aspects one could have. In the Zulu community, respect and valuing the community go hand in hand because if a person within our community, especially those growing up, respects and values someone else who isn't their family or biological parents, in my Zulu community, definitely that person is automatically valuing the community as a whole, which is a good thing to do as a growing individual. There's a saying that says, 'It takes a community to raise a child' Basically, that saying says that it is denser because when a growing individual knows how to respect and value adults and someone who isn't their parents or family member, that means respect has been accomplished. That adult can give guidance and also life lessons to shape me or any growing being, since you'll be showing high respect and morals for that person.

REACHING MARRIAGE

There's a strong emphasis on the importance of valuing yourself in my community, especially young, growing maidens who keep themselves pure and maintain their morals. Marriage is seen as a good achievement in my community because getting married is considered to reeping good behavioral ethics and morals, as well as keeping and maintaining themselves solely pure, including their virginity as Zulu maidens. In my Zulu community, there's an annual reed dance event that takes place to honor young virgin maidens for continuing to keep themselves pure until marriage. In my Zulu community, you'll be regarded as a good example to the growing young maidens, many people in my community are valued and respected because they managed to keep themselves until they got married. Hence, this serves as motivation to the growing young maidens to keep themselves until marriage.

Therefore, these teachings highly influence my worldview of Zulu community, where they promote and cherish keeping and waiting for marriage, as well as the importance of valuing ourselves.
