As we all know that we come from different backgrounds. Ethnic groups also add to why we have different backgrounds. Every ethnic group has norms that need to be followed and most of the time if you do not follow these norms there are consequences to face. In our zulu culture we have this belief which is about our clan names. In our clan names we have surnames which we sort of relate to them. For example my surname is Ndlela so the clan surnames that I relate to them are Ntuli and Mbhele. So we are expected to not get married to these surnames and fi you get married to these surnames you may give birth to a disable child which is true because I have witnessed it. My aunt got married to one of these surnames and her first born was disable. In order for her to avoid getting other disable children they had to perform ritual which will break bond that these surnames have. So they had to buy white cow which it is used to perform this ritual. Another belief is that we have animals which signify our ancestors. As I'm Ndlela the animals that signify our ancestors is a green snake and green insects. They said if ever you see one of these animals just know that ancestors have visited you. We should not kill the. Whenever we see them.
